your garden wedding items.
The Make up
by Piandre
For a
daytime garden wedding, make up should use nude, light colors
to keep the face looking fresh and simple. As daytime weddings
are more informal than evening celebrations, hair can be tied
to a soft, loose chignon or hair can be let down, with soft
curls to make it look fuller.
For a nighttime celebration, light make up colors are still
recommended. Make up can emphasize the lips to create a dramatic
effect. Hair is usually upstyled to match the evenings
formal celebration.

Soft fabrics (chiffon georgette or silk
chiffon), fabrics that would flow very well,
without the petticoat, would go nicely for
a daytime garden wedding.
As
for colors, white or off-white is recommended
for a daytime bride, and pastel colors for
her entourage. On the other hand, more solid
colors match an evening occasion.
For the design or style, tube, spaghetti-strapped,
or halter would not only look nice, but
will also be comfortable for a daytime garden
wedding. At night, soft flowing, A-line
or semi-balloon gowns are some of the options.
Sexy silhouettes would be ok too. Should
the evening prove to be a little cooler,
a matching shawl or bolero would be useful.
For
a garden wedding, the cake designs to choose from
are endless. Cakes covered in fondant, buttercream
or chocolate are just some of the choices. But
factors to consider are temperature or heat, lighting
and colors.

Temperature - If the cake will be placed in a
warm area (especially outdoors, under sunlight),
it will not hold up for a long period if its
covered in buttercream or chocolate. A cake covered
with fondant, on the other hand, will hold up
for a longer time. For a daytime outdoor wedding,
also consider placing the cake inside a tent or
gazebo, or under the shade of a tree.
Lighting - For a nighttime garden wedding, enhance
the beauty of the cake by putting dramatic lighting.
Some garden areas may be poorly lit so consult
your caterer or venue coordinator to add more
lights where the cake will be placed.
Colors - For daytime cakes, light or pastel colors
would be attractive versus at night where deep
or darker shades would be more dramatic.
In terms of design, it is really dependent on
what you want. Here are some options:

Just
remember, whatever type or design of cake you
choose, it should be one that will make you smile a
cake youll be happy seeing in pictures 10,
20, or 50 years after your wedding.
Handmade
papers are the perfect invites for a garden wedding.
From just the look and texture, handmade papers
will already remind your guests of grass and earth.
To
make your handmade invites more beautiful, consider
the following options:
-
Have the paper sketched, painted, or embossed
with garden or flower designs. If you want
a very simple design, you can opt to have
the designs placed on the borders only.
- For a more natural design, have the paper
strewn with bits and

pieces
of dried grass and/or flowers. If that is
too simple for you, you can opt to put dried
flowers (with sinamay or abaca,
spruces of babys breath) to create
a colorful bouquet or garden design.
Put the invites in a handmade paper
envelope or place scrolled invitations
inside a bamboo or basket. For the
finishing touch, add a garden or flower
scent to make your invitations so
irresistible to turn down.
Give
your guests the wedding baskets! Put
in goodies like you usually bring
to a picnic wine, bread, chocolates.
Or, put bed and bath items, the colors
and scents of which can only remind
your guests of 2 things gardens
and weddings.
