| A
Fairy "Tail"
Wedding
A wedding was recently held at Harrods,
one of the world’s poshest and most expensive department
stores, which had all the elements of an extravagant celebrity
wedding- a horse-drawn carriage, lavish wedding cake, immaculate
white wedding gown and veil and numerous photographers and
cameramen.
Except
the bride and groom were no pop stars or Hollywood big shots.
The bride and groom were actually two canines.
On September 13, the bride Muffin, an eight-month-old Shih
Tzu, was married to Timmy, a two-and-a-half year old bichon
frise, in a ceremony held at the pet department of the exclusive
store.
The
wedding, which cost £3,500 or roughly 331,924.97, was
sponsored by Harrods. It is part of the store’s “Anything
is Possible” season.
The dogs’ owners, Dominique Day and Rachel Little, were
of course in attendance. According to Miss Little, Muffin’s
master, the two met when Muffin was having a coat fitted for
her at the store. The owners served as unofficial matchmakers
when, seeing how the two dogs got along, they decided to let
the dogs go on frequent walks together.
The wedding, the first between animals, was just like any
other nuptials, the owners and other observers noted. The
bride and groom shared a cake and a kiss before they left
on their horse-drawn carriage.
There is no word yet as to what the new couple’s living
arrangement would be like now that they’re married,
but Miss Little stated that the two would most definitely
keep on seeing each other. |
