Gift from the Heavens
Rain poured heavily during
Arlene Wenz's and Paula Tamao's afternoon wedding. Trying
to console the couple, guests told them that rain on a wedding
day brings good luck to the couple. Imagine their surprise
when the couple answered back," You have no idea how good."
Considering how couples do everything they
could to keep rain from falling on their wedding day- from choosing a date during
the driest months of the year to offering dozens of eggs to St. Claire or maybe even
chanting the nursery rhyme "Rain, Rain Go Away"- the couple's response may seem very
odd. Rain in their wedding day is one of the most dreaded nightmares of most couples,
but not only where Arlene and Paul unperturbed, they were actually very happy.
Nope, their happiness had nothing to do with a
bet or the aforementioned American superstition, but a promise made by one of their
wedding suppliers.
Looking to stand out from his competitors,
Richard Berberian, owner of a jewelry store in Boston, where the couple is from,
offered a unique incentive to potential clients: any couple who buys their wedding
rings from him will automatically get a refund if it rains more than ? inch in Boston
during their wedding day.
According to a newspaper report, Wenz stated that
she was probably the only bride in the world who was glowing because it was raining
heavily, and she probably was. |
