My
Wedding in Tagaytay
by

May 30, 2006
Beautiful
white parrots, relaxing massages, lovebirds in exquisite cages,
free food, a wall of cascading water and a pink, strawberry
flavored, chocolate fondue fountain…
These
are just some of the crowd-drawers at the recently concluded
bridal fair in perennial wedding destination favorite-Tagaytay
city. |
| |
But
more than these attractions, it was the chance of finding
the supplier that could make their dream wedding a reality
that lured more than a hundred soon-to-wed couples to
the Olivares Convention Center last May 20 and 21.
Dubbed
"My Wedding in Tagaytay," the bridal fair
was supported by Kasal.com
and attended by more than 50 local and Metro Manila-based,
making it the biggest and grandest bridal fair in the
history of the area.

Made
possible with the cooperation of the provincial government
of Cavite (led by Gov, Ayong Maliksi and the tourism strategy
group), the bridal fair was organized by Town's Delight and
the Tagaytay Country Hotel.
The fair was put together with the adage "hitting two
birds with one stone" in mind. The first purpose of the
event was to showcase the products and services of the wedding
suppliers in the area. According to Mr. Andrew Pacumio of
Town's Delight, 60-70% of the couples who marry in Tagaytay
are from Metro Manila. With this fair, they hope to encourage
more couples planning to marry in Tagaytay to hire local suppliers.

The
fair was also organized to promote tourism in the area.
The people from Town's Delight and Tagaytay Country
Hotel recognize the link between weddings and tourism,
and would like to capitalize on Tagaytay's popularity
as a wedding destination to promote tourism in the whole
region.
The
entire mood and feel of the wedding reflected the ambience
of every Tagaytay wedding- cosy, intimate, relaxed and
fun. During the two-day event, couples chatted with
other couples, joked with the people manning |

the
booths, joined in the raffles and enjoyed the free food. Actress,
host and senatorial wife Lani Mercado-Revilla sampled Hizon's
Catering's pink chocolate fondue fountain while politician
and businessman Dr. Pablo Olivarez tried out the foot-spa
machine in one of the booths.
A
fashion show featuring the works of local designer Bibsy Mae
del Rosario capped the two-day event.
