Tying
the Knot in Boracay by

The
island of Boracay
The
magnificently natural beauty of Boracay Island has made it
one of the Philippine's excellent destinations for many people
worldwide. It is not only suitable for lovers, friends, honeymooners
and families on vacation but is also known for aqua sports
and adventure enthusiasts. Yet a new way of treasuring the
island's pristine beauty is to make it as your wedding scene...
A
beach wedding is not common in our country because we are
accustomed to marry according to religious practices. Aside
from that, it requires higher costs and longer preparation
time.
Yet
nothing can stop you from planning your wedding in a totally
different way. In such a case, Boracay is the perfect spot
to have a wedding ceremony. Its surpassing beauty adds up
to its distinction as beaches are the current favorites of
some wedding couples who want to enjoy a view of nature's
best.
Part
of Boracay's charm is that there is no need for mode of transportation
for it is only seven kilometers long. The island is located
at the northwest tip of Panay and part of Aklan Province about
345 kilometers from Manila. It is accessible by air from Manila
or Cebu through two principal gateways: Caticlan airport or
Kalibo airport.

Other
Boracay spots wherein people can enjoy peace and
quietness for their wedding bliss are the Balinghai,
Bunyagan and Cagban beaches.
The
plethora of nature's gifts- the bays, sunsets,
clear waters, hilly slopes- are enough to mesmerize
the populace. Meanwhile, Puka beach, which is
the second largest beach in Boracay, is frequented
mostly by tourists.

The
ultimate tourist spot is the four-kilometer White Beach, located
on the west coast of the island between the villages of Angol
and Balabag. This legendary stretch of white sand, combined
with a good and easy atmosphere and beautiful sunsets, enable
couples to enjoy the scenery while pledging vows.
If
nearby water is not your idea of a wedding moment, then going
on top of Mount Luho, the highest elevation in the island
will surely satisfy you. Although the hike can be tiring,
the view is worth your efforts. It offers you a glimpse of
coves, tropical palms amid the clear waters. On the other
hand, The Sunken Forest or the Dead Forest, which is an old
fishpond with dead mangroves located at the southern end of
Bulabug Beach is considered a romantic place for lovers.

Although
the island is sheltered from seasonal rains, it is still best
to prepare for a tent and book an indoor backup site for a
Boracay wedding. A public, informal wedding along White Beach
or in a private garden or resort seems suitable.
Since the island is surrounded with more then 200 hotels that
boast of traditional architectural styles, it would be easier
for the couple and the guests to find a place to celebrate.
Aside from the beach and white sand, elegant restaurants and
shopping places, bars and discos pervade the place.
