10:30am - Go back to Loboc so you can have your lunch
while cruising the famous Loboc river. Request the driver
to make a small detour to see the hanging bridge just before
Loboc. Just in case you failed to buy snack or gets hungry
again, a local vendor beside the bridge sells the sweetest
broiled bananas for PhP 5.00/stick.
1:00pm - Go to Baclayon Church. For a minimal entrance fee of PhP 25.00, you can have a
tour of its museum. You can request for a local staff to guide you and explain the significance/history of the religious artifacts. Just outside the church, you can buy nice amulets and souvenirs.
1:30pm - Pass by the local souvenir shop. They have all sorts of pasalubong items - from
trinkets to foodies to handcraft bags.
2:30pm - Continue your tour to the Sandugo site. Near the area is the gigantic Balete tree which
became popular for its underground cave housing bird's nests. It is now privately-owned by a German. Our tour guide, however, said that if you're lucky and the owner is there, you might be allowed to have a little peak under. If you forgot to buy some more items from the local souvenir shop, there are several souvenir stalls beside and across the blood compact site (you might find it interesting to know that unlike in the souvenir shop, you can bargain/haggle there on the prices).
3:30pm - If
you are still not tired and is in the mood for a little refreshing
snack (or even an early dinner), visit Bohol Bee Farm. The
site is on the way to Panglao Island (where I hope you will
be staying for the rest of your trip).
4:30pm - Head for the resort and begin your relaxing stay.
Day 2
Your second day can be devoted to rest and relaxation. If you want to experience
island hopping/dolphin watching, make your reservation a day before. Island hopping,
which begins around 5am and takes almost half a day, costs approx. PhP 3,500.00. To save,
consider joining another group and split the cost with them.
In the afternoon, you can opt to rest and relax or try out other resort's amenities.
Day 3
In my experience, one day in the resort is not enough, so it would be nice
if you can maximize your 3D/2N stay and check out lunchtime (instead of early
morning). You can either wake up a little later or have more of the sun and the
waters in the morning before leaving.
In any case, you can always go back. And if you have experienced Bohol like I did, you would want to go back time and again to this little paradise. |
