Davao City Launched as
Wedding Capital at Kasalang Filipino 2010

Wedding suppliers from Davao
City and the rest of Mindanao proved why it could be the next
wedding capital of the Philippines during the seventh leg of
Kasalang Filipino 2010 12-city wedding and tourism fair and
exhibit, held last June 25 – 27, 2010 at NCCC Mall in
Davao City.
The event, co-presented by
Kasal.com, ABS-CBN Regional Network Group, and New City Commercial
Corporation (NCCC) Mall Davao, showcased the best wedding venues,
products, and services from the Crown Jewel of Mindanao as well
as other wedding suppliers from nearby provinces.
Aside for creative wedding
displays of local wedding suppliers, numerous activities were
staged for attending couples and guests. These include marriage
processing seminar, hair and make up trends, and cake decoration
demo. Local music artists entertained the soon-to-wed couples
and mall goers at the event area. Aspiring and professional
make-up artists showed off their skills at the Ever Bilena Gandang
Pinay Bridal Make up Competition. It was make up artist Edgar
Digol who took home the grand prize of PhP. 20, 000.00 worth
of Ever Bilena products, 1-year Gold Priority Listing advertising
in Kasal.com worth PhP. 5, 000.00, and a trophy. Bocari Sidik
and Juls Robert Milans managed to bag first and second place,
respectively. Finally, Davao City’s premiere wedding fashion
designers took over the runway and displayed their latest wedding
fashion collection.
Certificates were given to
all the wedding suppliers who took part in the event. All the
couples who attended the event received free gift pack while
lucky couples received special gift packs and gift certificates
courtesy of the event sponsors.

2010 is a nationwide wedding and tourism fair road
show, which ties twelve (12) Philippine cities with one goal
of promoting the local wedding industry. The following are the
12 cities of the 2010 road show – Cabanatuan, General
Santos, Lucena, Baguio, Dumaguete, Pampanga, Davao, Malolos,
Tagaytay, Cagayan de Oro, San Fernando, and Bacolod. This year’s
Kasalang Filipino 12-city roadshow is endorsed by the Department
of Tourism.
