Bohol Chosen as Location for Taiwan Ice Cream TV Ad
21 August 2009

The province of Bohol, a budding Philippine wedding destination, was chosen by a top ice cream company to serve as their location for their next television advertisement.

DuRoyal, tagged as Taiwan's number one ice cream company by Breakthrough Magazine, creates a yearly summer campaign for their products. For this year, they chose the island of Bohol for their location. Aside from shooting the advertisement, the company will be giving away a special trip package to Bohol to one hundred lucky Taiwanese.

According to Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Joseph Ace Durano, DOT teamed up with the Taiwanese crew during the three-day duration of the shoot to strengthen the country’s international marketing links and at the same time, to feature the Philippines’ attraction. Secretary Durano stated that the decision of the company to feature Bohol reaffirms the country's position as a premier summer destination.

On the other hand, DOT Team Asia Pacific Marketing Head Director Rica Bueno said that it is a privilege for the Philippines to be featured in the ad campaign of one of the most highly distinguished brands in Taiwan. The said campaign, which runs until August 30, 2009, featured the spectacular views of Bohol Beach Club and Panglao Island Nature Resort.

The province of Bohol is most famous for its Chocolate Hills and Philippine Tarsier (Tarsius syrichta). Aside from this, the province also boasts of pristine white sand beaches located in the island of Panglao.
