Marco Polo Plaza Offers Free Seminars In Debutante & Bridal Fair

Be part of Marco Polo Plaza’s “SEASONS: A Debutante & Bridal Fair” happening this weekend, August 28 and 29. Free seminars are open to debutantes, students, brides- and grooms-to-be, as well as event planners, suppliers and organizers as the Marco Polo Plaza gathers four industry experts as guest speakers.

On Saturday, August 28, one of Manila’s most sought-after image consultants, Lia Sevilla-Bernardo, will talk about “Wedding Etiquette” at 2:00 pm; while Louella Alix, hands-on owner of Presents & Such, will share her unique ideas and concepts on “Ideal Giveaways” at 3:30 pm.

For the fourth time in a row, the Marco Polo Plaza is also partnering with the Cebu City Civil Registrar’s Office and the Cebu City Health Office to bring future brides and grooms to the bridal fair. Selected couples applying for a marriage license will have their pre-marriage seminars for family planning and other related matters hosted in the cozy comfort of Marco Polo Plaza’s Tokyo Room on Saturday, 8:30 AM.

On Sunday, August 29, start the afternoon with Cebu’s top image consultant, Jessie Glova, as he lays out “The Dos and Don’ts of Make-up” at 2:00 pm. Well-known fashion designer Dexter Alazas, who’s also the fashion director of STYLEFIRM and managing director of AD Model Management Cebu, shares about “Stylish Occasions” at 3:30 PM.

Aside from the free seminars, this two-day “open-house” event from 10 am – 6 pm at Cebu City’s finest hotel will also showcase themed setups in selected function rooms to offer smart concepts and new ideas to event planners and organizers. For the special set-ups, the hotel's banquet team is working with prominent professionals such as event stylists Debbie Huang of Simple Wishes and Sheila Ruiz of Lush Blooms. Gardens will be designed by the hotel team with the assistance of Magdalena Perodes. At the Grand Ballroom, attendees will also have an opportunity to meet with different suppliers of events-related products and services.

Watch out for the culminating Debutante’s Fashion Show with the theme “Princess Diaries” on August 28, and the Bridal Fashion Show featuring the best of “Seasons” on August 29 at the hotel lobby. Visitors will be treated to the latest couture and accessories for debutantes and brides by the members of the Fashion Council of Cebu, composed of the most respected names in Cebu Fashion: Jun Escario, Albert Arriba, Arcy Gayatin, Cary Santiago, Oj Hofer, Sal Malto, Philip Tampus and Philip Rodriguez. The shows, which start at 6:00 pm, will be directed by the multi-awarded Junjet Primor.
