Hotel H2O is the first and only marine-themed urban resort hotel in the Philippines. Opened on April 10, 2010, the hotel is part of the Manila Ocean Park complex in the Philippine capital’s historic Rizal Park. It has been designated as the official residence for guests and patrons of Manila Ocean Park.

Every part of Hotel H2O has a connection to its namesake element, water – from its nextdoor proximity to Manila Ocean Park; to its location on the edge of Manila Bay; to its signature aquarium wall that adorns the inner guest rooms and grand ballroom; to the seafood specialties of its main F&B outlet, Makan Makan Asian Food Village; to the healing, negative-ion treatments of its wellness center, Zenyu Eco Spa. All these make Hotel H2O perhaps the most visually distinctive urban property in the country today.

Design and facilities
The hotel was designed by GSN + P Architecture Studio and great care was taken to ensure that the architecture blends harmoniously with the natural environment, combining comfort and elegance with traditional Philippine design and colours. It comprises two floors connected by a long aquarium wall, the only one of its kind in the Philippines. Hotel H2O offers a broad range of accommodation – its 128 rooms and 19 suites spread across 11 room categories, from standard to executive suite. It also has a fitness centre, spa, lounge, business centre, grand ballroom, function rooms, boutiques and a speciality restaurant.

Activities
There is never a dull moment at Hotel H2O. A typical day starts with an early morning stroll at Rizal Park, just around the corner from the hotel. Walk through this sprawling square – Manila’s largest expanse of greenery – or join one of the many groups performing tai chi, shibashi and other exercise rituals. It’s a great way to start the day. Then, hit the hotel’s fitness centre, with its fully equipped gym, before going on a mid-day walkathon of another kind – shopping at the labyrinthine bazaars of nearby Malate, where charming little shops selling curios and antiques abound.

After a hearty lunch of Southeast Asian specialties at Makan Makan Asian Food Village, get ready to visit another continent and beyond that, another world. An elevator ride transports you to the Oceanarium at Manila Ocean Park, where you come face-to-face with the wonders of the coasts, the rivers and the deep sea in all their spectacular glory.

One of the most popular attractions is “Trails to Antarctica,” where you get acquainted with friendly Humboldt penguins in “Penguin Quest” and experience first-hand the sub-zero temperatures of the frozen continent in the ice and snow village.

Another current attraction is the “Birds of Prey Kingdom,” where you can view up-close one of the most formidable aerial raptors patrolling Southeast Asia’s coastal regions and rivers – the Brahminy Kite.

After all that activity, relax and take in the Musical Fountain Show at the Acquatica complex. Or have a fun night-out with friends at the Liquid Pool Lounge or White Moon Bar.

Finally, cap an eventful day by de-stressing at Zenyu Eco Spa, just steps away from your room. Here, experience the “negative ion” treatment that makes this spa the most soughtafter in the wellness field. Heated ceramic-tile beds and deoxidizers in the therapy rooms emit high doses of healthy negative ions that cleanse the air and rejuvenate the body. The overall effect is holistic wellness for the tired body and even the weary soul.
